My oldest using Singapore Math and I'll be using RS for my youngest. I'm thinking of trying of MM as supplement for the oldest. Or maybe switch him to MM if he likes it. Any advice?

We're currently living in Singapore. For us we're using Spore math while homeschooling my oldest. For local schools the teacher will teach the topic in sections(textbook) and the kids will do the work independently in class and at home.

For my K/elementary kids
I tried sorting by topics: alphabets, maths concepts etc numbers, Not working out that well. All jumbled out by the end of the day. Must look for better organisation ideas. For books that I want to focus this week I'll display using adption from the "rain gutter" idea. Instead I use Ikea shelves (narrow ones for placing picture frames)

:bigear:i'm considering to put my youngest in K too. Giving credit the schools here teach phonics etc Letterland, Zoophonics. Schools here tend to do thematic spelling and i dont even think the teachers encourage sounding out or spelling rules.

Hi
I'm new to homeschool and expat living overseas. I'm planning to get IEW for my oldest (9yrs)? I went to the website but not too sure what to order. Is Teaching writing/student writing intensive combo pack level A sufficient. What else will you consider buying? Please advice.

hi
I found this thread while researching about MCT. I'm considering this for a 7 yr old (nephew), though I dont think gifted would find this program more equip for him. I'm glad to find out that its not necessarily for "gifted"(based on IQ testing) kids only. Your discussions have been enlightening. Thanks.

I have a highly visual learner. She did very well with Hooked on Phonics. :001_smile:
Hi
I'm also using hooked on phonics for my boy, he's very visual. I noticed that you're also using AAS (which I'm considering). Do you use it together with HOP or after? Was the transition difficult? Thx.
