This is not a very good Latin translation from the English. And it really doesn't fit the meter and tune very well. Here's a better one to sing to the same tune: Iésus ámat me. I was a little free with the Latin translation, in order to make it more singable (keeping the same number of syllables and lining up the accents with the English), and to avoid hiatus and the need for elision, and to produce some rhymes or slant rhymes (scio/hoc, parvuli/infirmi). Here's a literal English rendering of the Latin: Jesus loves me. I know because Scripture says this. LIttle ones belong to/in him. He is strong, they are weak. Yes, Jesus loves. Yes, Jesus loves.
