You handled that very well!

We are also considering getting goats in the near future. I really appreciate hearing everyone's advice!

You've already gotten some great advice, but I just wanted to give you a cyber :grouphug: We moved several times when my very extroverted, social dd was 6-7. It was so hard for her to not have a regular group of friends to play with.

I am looking for the same thing! My current Bissel is *horrible* on hard floors. It shoots dirt back at our feet! A friend of mine recommended the Swiffer Wet Jet, and another loves her Rainbow. I haven't done extensive research yet :)

I actually have started to get a lot of positive and envious comments :) My oldest dd wasn't too keen on homeschooling until she started to get the "You're *so* lucky" comments from her friends!

Those are precious!

Wow! Thank you for sharing :)

My 6 year old loves CHOW and SOTW vol 1. SOTW vol 2 quickly started to go over her head. My 9 year old ds likes CHOW, but especially loves to listen to the SOTW cds at bedtime :)

My children loved this website when we were expecting our latest sweetie :)
My girls liked the NOVA Miracle of Life video.

My 12 yr. old dd is part of a group of preteen girls who are getting ready to start going through devotional books together. First up is Beautiful Girlhood. I am interested in hearing what other studies people have done :)

3). Don't jump on every curriculum bandwagon that comes along. IMO, you will end up buying too much and feeling overwhelmed and confused.
This is great advice, and something I struggle with :blushing:
I have also learned over the past few years to make the curriculum work for me instead of being a slave to it. This is *so* important!

My children enjoyed the Professor Parrot Speaks Spanish dvd when they were younger :)

Oh yum! I love crockpot meals :)

Have you considered using a book like All Through the Ages by Christine Miller? This resource has book lists for all history time periods, and includes books from Veritas and Sonlight (+ other) lists. It is wonderful :)

Thank you for this thread! I have been looking for science experiment ideas. I also have children that get bored covering one topic for a whole year. These suggestions sound *perfect* for us!
Using the library for TOG
in K-8 Curriculum Board
Posted
I am *very* curious to hear the answer to this question! I am considering TOG for next year, but we would need to use the library as much as possible. We have a large hsing population in our county, and I wonder if using the library will be difficult.
