OMG cry my eyes out. I’m far from it (like 18 ish years) but I’m fearful of an empty nest. My kids are my purpose for life. I love Dh dearly, but I need children to nurture. It has brought me so much joy. I don’t want these days to ever end.

This is me right now; my last graduated and leaves soon. I feel like I'm dying on the inside.

I never wanted it to end.

    Enjoy the precious days.

Mid century cookbook I inherited from my grandmother. Huntsville Heritage—Junior League. One of several h’ville, AL/Madison County cookbooks that I cherish because of my grandmother’s handwritten notes. And the illustrations and little vignettes from this slice of society in history—has made for good conversation and a jumping off point for state history studies.

I have to let my dough sit out a bit. too cold to roll out. I don’t know what “very thin” means. I roll to a scant .25 inch—maybe? I bake at 350 because my oven seems a little hot.

I have never topped tea cakes with extra sugar. Part of the reason I love them is that they aren’t very sweet.

I included a second recipe from the same cookbook. If you can’t zoom, I’ll type it all out. Just lemme know.

The family has voted and Tea/hot chocolate, tea sandwiches and cookies/squares is the winner for Christmas dinner.

We are going to do our gumdrop Cookies, peanut butter squares, chocolate chip cookies. I would love some more ideas because we love Christmas baking!

    Recipes please?! Thanks!
