  1. out, and if they had received my "pre-order" because I had not heard from them. I also asked how many where going to eventually be in the series and if there was any kind of time line when they were going to be released. They said FLL4 will be the last book of the series.

    HLM,

Thanks for the "heads-up" on that. I will probably move onto R&S as well when we get to that point.

  2. Jeana,

Not SWB here, but I imagine she will need more information than your post supplies in order to give you any advice. What grade is the child in currently? has she had any grammar? and what is her skill level.

    Blessings,

  3. There is a very simple solution to this.

Your dc fold their notebook paper on a line. They put the piece of folded paper under a row of problems in the textbook. They write just the answers. When they finish that row, they fold their paper on the *next* line, and so on.

    Simple fix.

What a great idea! So simple :001_smile:

  4. Start where you left off and just let him go through as many lessons in a day as he can / wants. If you hit one where he has trouble, you work on it till he's got it, then go on. It would be a good way to review and find out if any shaky areas exist.

This is exactly what I did with my ds. I gave him the book and had him read the lesson, if he had any problems with the words I would then "teach" the lesson. This worked out very well and highlighted a few gaps he had in his reading. We had a little celebration when he finished the book.

    Blessings,

  5. I'm attempting to do this since we can't afford to buy a math curriculum right now. How did you do this? My dc are in first and second grade.

Although I didn't make up my own curriculum. I used Scott Foresman Exploring Mathematics (1994) for K and 1 with *great* success both are workbooks and I didn't need the TM (there is also a Yahoo group ). I bought them used through http://www.academicbookservices.com . They were $11 and $13.75 respectively. I have purchased several things through this company and have never had a negative experiance. Another option is http://oldfashionededucation.com/arithmetic_math.htm this is a "free" online curriculum (although I have not personally used it).

Good luck finding what you need.

  6. I am currently using your SOTW-1 pages and have found them to be very helpful. In fact I was wondering how to set up my own pages for SOTW2 next year( and NOT looking forward to it). Using your pages this year has enabled me to do history 2 days and science 2 days, in years past I have struggled to get both of these subjects done every week.

    Thanks for your hard work.:)

    Blessings,
