  1. I have written course descriptions year by year for my hs student. Some have to be long - especially for Veritas Omnibus.  Does anyone know if there is a limit for size for the college applications? I too used Lee Binz' materials as my template.

BTW, I do like the idea of including the online teacher as a resource, since technically -  the class was still taken at home.

Yes, I would be interested in knowing about a size limit as well, particularly for the common application.  Do all (core and elective) course descriptions need to be included?

    Thank you

  2. My son is not taking Biology, but he also takes Apologia at co-op. We use Quizlet to study for all of the tests. You can just download the app for free & search whatever module test you need. Other moms have done all the work. This helps my son tremendously & may be worth looking into. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the tip about Quizlet!  My student likes it and finds it fun and VERY helpful for studying.  It even has a section for correct spelling of terms, which has been a problem area for us, especially some of the complicated terms in Biology.

  3. Our family is enrolled in Homeschool Connections (recorded option) this year.  The history courses by Phillip Campbell have been well received by my history-loving daughter.  My daughters are also taking a number of other classes (Spanish with Irma Schmitt, German with Alexis Mausolf, and writing with Erin Conroy are very good as well), but I cannot comment on their science as we are already using various books.  I do plan to re-enroll next year to continue foreign languages with the abovementioned teachers, and will likely enroll in the Homeschool Connections chemistry course or their [conceptual] physics because this year has been so successful. So far, I have found Homeschool Connection's courses to be thorough and interesting.  I am very pleased with my daughters' progress using this program.

  4. We have concerns about prices of online, AP, etc. courses as well.  This year, we are enrolled in Homeschool Connections because of the recorded option ($30.00 per month for unlimited use, no restriction in number of courses) and because it offers so many subjects and the certification/education level of all of the teachers..  The classes are also offered live for those who are interested.  My daughters and I think the recorded classes are great.  I plan to use this option again next year.  It has been a wonderful experience!

  5. Both my daughters and I really like Homeschool Connections (provider of Catholic online live and recorded classes), and I definitely plan to subscribe again next year.  The foreign language and writing teachers are amazing, but all of the classes are good.  My daughters (8th and 9th grades) have been exposed to and learned a lot since September.
