FairProspects
I'm now back to full time teaching and at the AP institute, many AP & Pre-AP teachers mentioned that they are using MCT grammar materials in their classrooms. I will have Pre-AP 8th grade gifted students next year and I want to incorporate MCT. I previously taught Island and Town levels to my own kids when we were homeschooling. What grammar level would you recommend for 8th grade gifted students? These students know the basic parts of speech, but not much else. This is simply due to lack of exposure, as they all score incredibly high on both ELA achievement and verbal ability tests. Should I start with Voyage or Town level for these students? We will be reading the book aloud with a document camera and then moving into the coordinating practice sentences for the level.
SoCal_Bear
Have you seen what they list for school usage on royalfireworks? https://www.rfwp.com/pages/michael-clay-thompson/ Maybe call them and ask about what would be appropriate?
