Guest lili
Hello Everyone Can I pick your brains? I have six children. 14, 13, 10, 5, 3, 1 are the ages. Problem is that the 3 year old (is six kids all alone) and the 1 year old is now starting to become just as busy. Problem is it is becoming quite a challenge to teach nonstop with all the noise and constant interuptions. Does anyone have suggestions on how to keep the little ones occupied while teaching. I thought about possibly doing lesson in shifts. Maybe the two oldest could rotate out sitting with youger kids in the AM and do work in the afternoon. Anyway, suggestions wold be helpful! Thanks

Alenee
My 4yo has been loving her time alone to play with playdough. She sits at the kitchen table while we work downstairs. She'll sit there for two hours working away at her playdough projects. Someone here suggested a bag of toys specific to each day. For instance, Monday-paper cups and spoons and a little water, Tuesday- measuring spoons, straws, Wednesday-pattern blocks, etc. Have you ever done room-time? I've seen people do this with great success. 1 hour alone in their room to play alone. It takes time to train them but it becomes something the child looks forward to. I'm sure there will be others with ideas. HTH!
