cmpet7
I am trying to decide between the Kaplan SAT online course from homeschool buyers co-op or the SAT online course from college board? Has anyone tried either of these and did they work? My son tends to not test well even though he knows how to do the problems. Any feedback is most appreciated. Thanks. Leanna Tomlinson
My dd took the Kaplan SAT prep online last winter/spring in preparation for the May SAT. She said it was helpful. Her scores were above average, but she has always been an above average student. The Kaplan practice tests accurately predicted her actual scores on the test, and she did gain understanding of the testing process. This summer I had her use the SAT math review from Chalkdust. She took the SAT again this fall and improved significantly in her math score. In her opinion, the Chalkdust program helped her more than the Kaplan prep. I just asked dd what she would say in answer to your question. She said she felt like Kaplan would be great prep for someone who was weaker in reading, but she would suggest Chalkdust if math is your weaker area. For the price offered through Homeschool buyers co-op, you can't go wrong. HTH, Leanna
