Claire Posted February 9, 2008 Share Posted February 9, 2008 I don't know about the new ones, but my older stainless steel VitaMix sounded like an aircraft engine in my kitchen. My dh has some hearing loss from loud sounds, and children's ears are even more easily damaged by high decibel levels than adult ears, so I got rid of it. I don't know about other brands, but the VitaMix was LOUD. There are some blender groups on Yahoo that might be able to give you reviews of different blenders. I'd try this one.
