...................
My son is in Saxon 6/5. He has always loved math, until now. He loved Abeka, Saxon 3, and Saxon 5/4. Even when doing all the problems. Now his test scores are dropping and he really hates it. I had to have him back up and re-do ten lessons because he failed two tests in a row. Now, he is doing well and understanding it, but he just totally loathes it. I need to have him finished Saxon 6/5, but I wonder if moving to another math would be good. He hates the fact that it moves so slow. Yet, I know he needs practice. So I couldn't skip half the book. He also hates the huge number of practice problems. But if he skips half, his scores drop. I'm hoping that now that he's hitting new material in lesson 76, that it'll be more interesting. But if not I really think the layout and organization of the ACE math will be more interesting and less overwhelming. Has anyone tried it? Down_the_Rabbit_Hole
My middle son used ACE Algebra because he just could not grasp it from BJU. He did well and it was enough to pass the GED and ASVAB tests but I would not consider it for a student college bound. The goal for this son (due to many many problems) was to just get the credit for Algebra and ACE did that.
