Tree Frog
On its nightly scan, AVG detected 5 rootkits on my computer. How do I get rid of them? DH is deployed until Jan, so I can't ask him; I need to figure out how to get rid of them. A couple of websites said they can be difficult to eliminate, but suggested using either a different operating system to find them or wiping the hard disc and reinstalling the OS. I don't currently have another OS currently installed. Any other ideas? Any suggestions on blocking them on my other computer (which is currently out of the house being worked on)? The computers are networked; is it possible for the rootkits to transfer from my laptop to my desktop via the network? Thank you for any help you can give me!
