thowell
After a lot of struggling over what book to use I have settled on the Abeka Land I Love as our springboard for the history class i am teaching. However, I want to add in alot. The text will mainly be used as a spring board. We will start a bit before Civil War and work our way through. So any ideas of extra projects and such to add to it. Throw anything at me you think of. Edited July 27, 2011 by thowell
Lily_Grace
We've used the other two in this series to open up discussions and research. I've modified parts of them with some success for younger kids but middle schoolers really get more out of them.
thowell
We've used the other two in this series to open up discussions and research. I've modified parts of them with some success for younger kids but middle schoolers really get more out of them. Thank you I have that on my list already. I am really looking more for ideas on hands on projects or presentation ideas. Even though the kids are older I still want it to have an element of fun. For example we will be making our own campaign cartoons based on the early campaign models from the 1800's. They will make a missionary prayer board as a class project when we discuss the Second Great Awakening. Any other ideas?
LanaTron
I am going to get an ancient history syllabus from Hewitt Homeschool Resources predominately for the project ideas, not the syllabus. It's only $6. Maybe they have one for American History?
