Agamemnonsmom
My son is almost half way through ETC 4 and is getting confused on syllables still. I'm thinking about going on to 5, which I don't think will be a problem and coming back to 4 later. Have you done this?
Angel
We did this! Many people on the boards recommended skipping 4 and going straight into 5. We went through book 6 or 7 then came back to 4 and then we were done.
rhrice3
You know we did these books when my graduating senior was 1st grade - so 12 years ago - and that was the problem with Book 4 back then. Luckily, I found the same support and recommendation - skip book 4 and do book 5 and book 6 and then come back to book 4. Funny, how everyone seems to have the same issue. It is probably a developmental thing. If book 4 is still challenging, go through it with him and do book 4 1/2 for mastery. Gook luck, ReneeR
Satori
We had problems with 4 as well. That was the only book I ever felt the need to get a 1/2 book for extra practice. We waited to do 4 1/2 until after book 6. That time around, it was no problem.
Guest
I guess it depends on the child's age also. We did it at the start of the year when Adrian had just turned 7. He went through it without any problems so we just finished it and kept going. It was the only one that we did lessons for though. The others he just whipped through independently.
