Amy713
Hi. I have a 5 yo daughter whom I plan to homeschool. We have no structure now, by design, but I'm looking for suggestions on how to approach school with her. I'm planning on covering math, language arts and handwriting for about 10-15 min/day. Signed, a total newbie
Melissa in St Louis
Hi, Amy! Welcome! If you have not yet read The Well Trained Mind, by Susan Wise Bauer, that would be an excellent place to start. Read it, let your brain digest it, and then come back again in a month and re-read it. :D You've come to the best place for questions, answers, and support! :D
pageta
My suggestion is to start out slowly, one subject at a time. It can be overwhelming deciding what you're going to do for a full curriculum, and if something doesn't work, if you started everything at once, it's hard to tell what to do. If you start with one thing at a time, you can get comfortable with each subject and then work subsequent subjects into your routine. Your routine kind of grows out of what you're doing rather than being something that is imposed on you with a raft of new subjects. Good luck!
