tdeveson
I'm looking into next year's curriculum. I'm very attracted to the Living Books curriculum on principle. Once I add our own math, will the rest be meaty enough? How many books do you end up reading in a week? How are they spread out? Can you use your own copies of the books, or do you have to buy their editions? What has been your experience? How did you flesh it out, if you did so. Was it enough for your dc? Thank you for any guidance you can give.

ChristyH
I use year six with my daughter and she reads all of the books herself and I feel reading Oliver Twist and Treasure Island by yourself at that age is fairly meaty. She is really enjoying much of what she is reading. Some books are easier and some are harder, but I feel it is a great balance. We have just transitioned from me doing most of the reading aloud to her doing it on her own and this has been a great thing.:001_smile: Edited November 24, 2009 by ChristyH
