Quiver0f10
If you use this how do you set up your various read alouds and lit for the year? Can you set this up at the beginning of the year or does it make more sense to do this monthly?

Vida Winter
Jean, I used to use SCM for planning assignments and it is really a great program. For read alouds you can schedule the books to be done in a certain order; that is, for instance start reading The Hobbit as soon as you finish reading The Secret Garden. The system is based on "do the next thing" rather than "do these tasks on a certain day". I haven't used it in about a year and I know they made many improvements to the program since then. With multiple kids I think the SCM planner is well worth the cost. They have a free trial, so you can give it a whirl. By the way I stopped using it because my internet service is so unpredictable. We have outages all the time, and at times it is painfully slow - so it was getting frustrating to depend on anything online.
Quiver0f10
Thanks, Dana. I signed up for the free trial and I really like what I see so far!
