2) Do dual enrollment students pay tuition in your area?

No and beginning last year they do not even pay for textbooks

 

3) Can dual enrollment students count their courses towards their HS diploma?

Yes

 

4) How many credits can a dual enrollment student take?

Unlimited

 

5) Are there limits on the DE classes a student can take?

Only core classes. No upper level classes allowed. For example, my dd is an accounting major. She could not take accounting 1 or 2 until she was considered a college student.

 

[Can a dual enrolled biology class count as 4th science?]

My dd has completed physical science, biology, and almost chemistry. I am considering having her dual enroll for her junior and senior year of high school. If she were to take biology as a dual enrolled student would that count as a 4th science? I was thinking maybe it could be advanced biology. Or do you think I could only count one biology? Thanks!

[if you have schooled your kids most or all of their schooling years...I have a question]

In my daughter's junior year of high school, she did online dual enrollment courses. She thought she would have been happy just doing online college forever; however, I made her dual enroll her senior year by going on campus at a local college. Getting out of the car was SO hard for her. Going from homeschooling to online to on campus was a wonderful way for us to transition. This is her second year going on campus and she is thriving. She joined a couple of clubs and has friends that she never thought she would have. She did have a hard time trying not to learn everything on her own and asking her professors if she had a question. She was so used to figuring out things for herself. She has always been an excellent student so her transition wasn't painful.
