What is Homeschool Buyers Co-op?

Has anyone used this or have any experience with it?
I used this several years ago when Sonlight carried this and wanted to use it with my 2nd daughter for high school. Sonlight no longer carries it but I found the website to buy it direct.
Thanks!

What am I looking for when I click on the u tube site?

I'm wondering the same thing. I've always preferred them to spend time reading and not getting bogged down with the guides. I just looked at Progeny Press' site and they suggest to spend 8-12 on each guide. I can't imagine spending that much time reading one book. Would you have them reading another book at the same time? I wondered if doing guides would help with the ACT?
Thanks!

I've heard good things about "Welcome to the Wonderful World of Geography" by Runkle. I bought the book at our last book sale and it looks really good.

What do you mean about LofF not translating well? I too, am in your situation, my daugher scored a 17 in math. She is finishing MUS Alg 1 in May. I know she has not gotten this down like she needs to so I want her to have more practice. I posted this question a few days ago and someone suggest Life of Fred. I'd never heard of it but was thinking of giving it a try. I don't want to waste time and money trying different things. I have a friend who has TT Alg 1 and thought about that but I hate to see her go through a whole other year of Alg 1. I emailed the owner of Life of Fred and he said she could finish Beg Alg in 4 months. Is this true? Is Beg Alg and Adv Alg just Algebra 1 or is it Algebra 1 and 2. I would really love more information on Life of Fred.
Thanks!

My daughter is finishing Math U See Algebra 1 next month. I would like her to have more review before starting Geometry next Fall to help prepare her for the ACT. I have access to Teaching Textbooks Algebra 1 and thought about having her work through that but I don't really want her to do another year of Algebra 1. What can I have her do for review during the summer? She is not strong in math and has struggled with algebra. I got a tutor and this did help her. I just want her to be more grounded in Algebra for the ACT and when she has to take it in college.
Any ideas??
Thanks so much!
