  1. Hello! I think I finally have a plan for Fall. My daughter will be an 8th grader and my son a 9th grader. My goal starting this Fall is to combine them as much possible to make my life easier and to give them a classmate to discuss with and to do labs with. Give me your thoughts. Too much? Too little? Thanks!

    Together:

    Biology (online with Apologia Academy)

World Geography (online with Landry Academy)

CQLA Level C (outside class taught by author)

Literature (online with Center with Lit)

    Gym (co-op)

Soccer (homeschool travel team...late summer through fall)

Bible??? (Looking for something that is somewhat conservative but not super conservative. Lol)

    8th grader:

    Algebra I (Derek Owens)

    Beginning Art ( Landry Academy...fall)

    Intermediate Art (Landry Academy...spring)

    Soccer (spring rec league)

    9th:

Algebra II (Derek Owens...completing Geometry with him now)

    German I (Landry Academy)

    Soccer/Futsal (travel team...winter/spring)

  2. Hi. I'll have an 8th grade girl and 9th grade boy in the Fall. He is finishing up physical science and she is finishing up general science. Both are using apologia academy. My daughter is bright and motivated. I was thinking of having her double up next year doing physical science and biology. My son is doing biology and I thought maybe it would be nice to get them on the same track. It would be easier for me, save money on supplies, and give them a classmate to discuss with. Would having my daughter double up be crazy for good student? If so, what about skipping physical science completely? Would we see that info down the road in chemistry and/or physics? Am I crazy for even thinking that this is a good idea? Thoughts? Thanks in advance! :)

  3. Hello. I've been a lurker on these boards for a long time but have finally decided to join! :) I'm graduating my first child in May and sending her off for college in August. It is an amazing feeling to finally see an ending and that I didn't "ruin" her completely! Haha. My next two kiddos will be in 8th and 9th grades this Fall. I have lots of questions about how to best combine these two as much as possible to cut down on my work and so they can have another person to discuss with. We also have a four year old in the house for the next year. She is in the US on a medical visa and is being hosting by our family while she is here having surgeries. At the end of the year, she will go back to Côte d'Ivoire to be with her family. AND our lives revolve around soccer. That's it. Thanks! :)
