  1. They are just a little uncomfortable, but a very important test. I agree with AK_Mom4 about getting your baseline. So very important.

When I go to have mine, I'm in and out in under 20 minutes max.

I wanted to add. Just think of your children. Do it for them.

You'll do fine; you've got this!

(Mine is already scheduled for the first week of April. I think it's the fifth or sixth time I've had it done)

  2. I'm sorry you're going through that. Losing a pet is devastating; being sad is to be expected. They give so much to our lives.

I'm hoping our rescue dog (13 y/o the first week of April and a full-blown diabetic, blind) passes on in her sleep. She's such a sweetie. She will be cremated so I can always keep her close.

  3. Long Island Ice Tea is really good. That "liquor is quicker" saying is spot on.

We used to go out for dinner and have those or if we were at Chi Chis it was always strawberry margaritas.

Staying home, whiskey and water is very easy.

  4. Our dentist was a big help when the wire needed to be shortened so it wouldn't poke DD in the gums.  We're only 25 miles away from the dentist, whereas we're 40 miles from the ortho. He also recommended our orthodontist. Perhaps you could call and inquire?

  5. No, and my apologies to anyone who is, unless you like the heat.

The temp here today was 96* with a heat index of 107*. Tomorrow and Friday are suppose to be 99* (temp). My favorite season is winter so I leave the house as little as possible. :svengo:  I'm sure it's much hotter than 99* somewhere across the U.S. (trying to think positive).

  6. It sounds like you're in wonderful shape. How you eat is how I eat (for the most part), and unfortunately, I've got to make some changes. I've got health problems and my weight is too high. I'm researching the Mediterranean way of eating (dementia runs in the family) and will be beginning with two days a week. I'm hoping to "change over" to at least 4 Mediterranean days a week, and continue to work on the other three. I really need to incorporate red wine into my diet for my heart (I used to smoke), get moving with at least some walking, and, in general, just start taking better care of myself.

(edited** This is not a touchy area/subject to me. No offense was taken)

  7. I could have written so much of your post, excluding the DH, the door, and the disapproving family members pertaining to homeschooling (we had familial support for awhile until their deaths; we have no co-ops or support groups here and hs is looked upon negatively by the community. My DD, 14 1/2, has quite a few things going on. Anxiety is one of them).

I meant to add that I cannot imagine not having support from your family. I'm so very sorry. This had to have just added to your stress.

    I'm also considering T4L.

Wishing you and your daughter the very best.

  8. I can remember seeing him sing Midnight Rider (one of my favorites) on the Sonny and Cher show in possibly 1973. (?) Something like that. Sweet Melissa and I'm No Angel are other favorites. I knew he had been ill, but was still saddened by his passing. RIP
