We used Visual link spanish for freshman yr and she didn't learn anything. Does anyone have any recommendations for making it up in the summer. I just thought she was a visual learner.

My daughter is struggling doing this course any suggestions on how to get through 2 yrs of this? She is a freshman and it is a requirement. I need help getting over this hump.

I am planning on doing Latin's Not So tough just one yr. before high school and then starting spanish. Is that a bad plan.

Can you tell me how do you teach comprehension? She has had her vision tested and taken care of that. To me comprehension is something that just comes naturally, but not over here. We have struggled for years. Last summer she actually went through a phonics review with trained professional. I feel that I have covered all the bases but nothing has come from it. There has got to be more to comprehension than just reading a paragraph and answering questions. She is currently 8th grade, she also struggles with memorizing or remembering facts. Any suggestions?

Besides the major publishers, BJU, Abeka, etc. is there a company that publishes 4 years of English for high school? I need suggestions.

I can't decide between MFW 9th grade Ancient and Lightning Literature 9th grade American lit.
We are doing American history now for 8th grade so would that strike Lightning lit?
Has anyone done MFW all the way through and enjoyed it?
I need literature suggestions if you have any others.

We are doing History of US through Sonlight in 8th grade. I was wondering if anyone has found a curriculum to follow that. I don't want to start over with the same material that she has already learned and she needs american history for high school. Since 1945 is where the last book of History of US leaves us.

I know this is new but was wondering if anyone is considering this with visual link spanish or has used it. What are your thoughts on it? My daughter has struggled learning spanish and not sure which way to go. Of course the sale ends tonight.

I have noticed that companies like Abeka and BJU have biology in 10th grade and Physical science in 9th grade. Yet I have been informed by our cover school that most colleges don't recognize Physical science as a science to be taken in 9th grade you have to have it in 8th grade. So my question is if my dd is taking Biology in 9th grade along with Alg. 1 is it going to be a struggle?
We are required 3 sciences with 3 labs in the state of TN.

I need a spanish curriculum that my kids will actually learn from and it doesn't break the bank. I thought I had found it when I bought Visual link Spanish, but it has failed. There is no accountability from the software, that sounds wierd but they can't interact with the software and therefore they are on their on to learn it. Is there anything that is software that is interactive? Middle School/High School age.

I am looking at purchasing this and need some help in making the final decision. Is this an easy read for your child or do they struggle with it? Is there a lot of teacher involvement? How long does it take to finish a lesson? I do science on Tuesday Thursday is that doable? Thanks

How do you study Health? Is it in your Science curriculum? Do you just do that through everyday life? Has anyone used Discovery Health online? I think about it every year and never get around to it. I don't know why it is so hard to incorporate.

My daughter is 13 and getting tutoring with her reading. The tutor found her to be lacking in a few of her phonics sounds. So she is starting over and going through them Also I tested my daughter for learning style and found her to be a visual learner. Is there anything to be graded in Sonlight? Can you grade the questions you ask, I know there are workbooks. Is there anything else? This is for 7th and 8th grade.
