  1. I really like the maxi dress style that has become real popular during the summer. They come in floor length as well as knee length but they do a great job of hiding extra tummy weight without making you look like you're wearing a ton of material. They're also very comfortable. Most come sleeveless and I wear mine with a short cardigan or sweater top. Also a lot of them are v-neck and so I wear a nice lace topped tank top to match underneath (so to avoid the plungeing neckline). Great for weddings. I recently bought an all black one from Ross that has black tulle roses on the top half. Dress barn has some nice ones too in a variety of sizes:) I know it can be so frustrating to find the right fit when you've got extra weight on. I hope you find the perfect dress for the occasion :grouphug:

  2. My son had similar problems. He needs more hands on curriculum where he can use more than one of his senses to learn something. We switched to MUS Alpha - if he already knows his numbers and counting then Alpha focuses all on single digit addition subtraction. I love that it is a mastery curriculum and so we can go as slow or fast as we need to. :)

  3. I teach beginner piano lessons and I've used both Bastien and Alfred's series and both are good. I recently began teaching some younger students with Little Mozarts by Alfreds and it teaches piano and music theory through a story about Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear. This might be too elementary for your children though. The newest books I just began using with my 5,6,& 7 year old are the Faber series: My First Piano Adventures for Beginners and it's great very colorful and has cool characters that teach different elements of music. Hope that's not too much info. Your best option is to go look at a music store that sells piano lesson books to give you a chance to look through them yourself and see what appeals to you and would fit your kids. Just like school curriculum some fit you better than others :)

  4. Thanks for sharing your ideas :) We just started homeschooling last year and so we haven't done preschool but one of my favorite books for little kids was The Kissing Hand - it helped my daughter who is very attached to me feel more comfortable if I had to be gone for a few hours here and there :)

  5. I've been watching at my Costco for a MONTH, since this was first posted by someone else.

Just found them last week and like someone else said, buried in the middle of the table. Grrr, hate the lack of organization in the book section.

They didn't have any that I really needed, wanted something to do with ancients, romans, etc....but I bought one anyway, because gosh darn, I've been waiting for them, lol!

    :iagree: :)
  6. I think American History is very important but I also have a huge appreciation for World History. I'm using Mystery of History because as a christian I want my children to have a Bible integrated view of World History and how they took place at the same time. I went to public school and didn't have the opportunity to see that perspective until I was an adult :)
