I'm curious as to how those of you who have used Implications of Literature schedule it?  I know I could just divide the number of pages by school days, but I'm wondering if there's a different way ya'll have done it.  Thanks in advance for any help!

[BFSU and interactive notebooks?? Anyone tried this?]

I thought I should clarify - I would like to loosely use interactive notebooks.  Instead of just glueing in a worksheet or a picture off the internet for them to describe or use to facilitate their notes, I would like to use foldable/interactive inserts.  Just not sure how that would look alongside BFSU and its flow of topics.

I love the idea of using interactive notebooks, especially for science.  I also have found that my kids like BFSU books the best out of what we've tried. SO............. does anyone have any experience combining the two?  Any tips?

Thanks for your reply and the peek at your schedule!  It was helpful - I might end up just going through one book at a time like you have here, but also am curious how to use the workbooks together.  It seems like Before We Read and Learning through Sounds 1 are supposed to be used simultaneously.(??)  Trying to figure out how that would work...

Hi all!  I'm using Pathway Readers for Kindergarten this year (Before We Read, Learning through Sounds, etc).  I'm struggling to put it in order to teach.  I know it's "meant" for first grade, but I want to split it up and teach the first bit of phonics in Kindergarten and then polish it off in first.  

 

Anyhow, I stumbled upon a post on another site from back in 2010 that there was a schedule/plan for Pathway readers and Climbing to Good English somewhere.  When I tried to contact the person who had posted about finding it, her email is non-existent now.  Does anyone have one or something I could get an idea of how it all fits together?

thanks everyone for your suggestions.  I think I'd like to take a look at Ordinary Parent's Guide to Teaching Reading and Happy Phonics.  Maybe they could go together somehow?

Is there a program that is somewhere in the middle between All About Reading and The Writing Road to Reading?  Not too much busy work, but enough to solidify the lesson and give her something to do.  She knows most of her letter sounds, but we haven't gone much farther than that...she's only 4 right now but wants to learn to read.

Any recommendations for summer language arts for children finishing 2nd and 3rd grades?  I already have next school year figured out, but want to find something to keep things fresh in their minds during the summer break.  I plan on them doing a bit of math, language arts and Spanish during the break and then pick up everything again in the fall.  So, any recommendations for grammar/language?

Thanks for your suggestions!  Anyone have any experience with Intellego Unit Studies?  I came across them today, but I've never heard of them before.

[Has anyone switched from FLL to Climbing to Good English?]

Title basically says it...just curious how the transition went, how grade levels matched up, etc.  DS will be finishing FLL3, but thinking of switching to CGE.  Would he need to go to CGE4, or 5?

I suppose I want something that is some-what challenging for the kids, but not too labor intensive for me. :)  I have a science background, but I'm due with child #6 at the end of Aug., and the soon-to-be-fourth grader is the oldest.
