Essential Living: Aromatherapy Recipes for Health and Home by Andrea Butje
Andrea teaches through the Aromahead Institute.
This is a very short book, but it gives you a starting place. It starts with a brief introduction to aromatherapy, moves into a basic tool kit of oils and applications. The rest of the book covers the kitchen, bathroom, beauty & skin, medicine chest, living room, bedroom, kids, the office, outdoor spaces, travel, emotional wellbeing, and aromatic indulgences. There are a few recipes in each sections using the oils in the recommended tool kit.
If you get the ebook you can easily jump to the room or purpose through the table of contents.

We love the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. It has made the list of "The Top 10 Zoos in the United States." We make a yearly trek from Minnesota to Nebraska just to visit the zoo.

You can set up separate emails to use with Messages. We are a family of 8, 4 of us have iPod Touches, iPhones, or iPads. We all use the same Apple ID, which I control. Each of us has a separate message account. If you go into settings, messages, send&receive you will see a list of phone numbers and emails associated with the account, you can then select which numbers and emails you want to receive and send messages from. Each device can make these changes.

I have an ARC system, punch and everything. If you like to take pages out and move things around then it starts to fall apart. I ended up purchasing a proclick instead. I love it.

I like to keep mine simple.
Yearly Calendar, Weekly Lesson Plan pages and at the back I include a pocket folder for odds and ends.

Another LOE fan. I've tried a lot of different phonics curriculums, but non have made my kids smile like LOE. Even my 10 and 12 year olds want to sit in on the lessons.

$88 per month for two kids. 1/2 hour lesson each week for each. Actually she charges $800 for both kids for the entire 9 months and I can break it down into however many payments I need.

We actually have done something a little different. We gave up our expensive cell phone plan and got a digital line. Then picked up a $15/month prepaid cell for emergencies. The cost of unlimited long distance and internet is cheaper with our cable company than paying cell charges.
No cable t.v., kept Amazon prime because of the shipping costs and lending library. Gave up Netflix.
We have two vehicles, but one is just for the whole family to go out, the other is a cheap gas saver car.
Don't go out to eat or order pizza, we cook from scratch for the most part.
Turn the heat down in the winter and the air temp up in the summer.
Shut off lights as much as possible.

The fact that neither the iPad or the Surface Tablet have a cd drive is what is keeping me from just jumping and buying one. I guess I am so far behind the times that it seems to seriously limit the usefulness of a device if it is lacking a cd drive.
What exactly are you referring to by convertible laptop/tablets? Is there something out there that I'm not even considering?
This article will explain what I mean and give you a little information on each of the convertible tablets that are currently available for purchase.
Edited to add: Did a little more reading and it sounds like the convertibles might still have some bugs to work out. So, research well if you decide to go that route.

I have an ipad and LOVE it. It is my first mac product and I think it is amazing. There are so many educational apps out there. However, there is one limitation you should consider before purchasing. Ipads are not compatible with flash products. This will limit your use of some video but also, the more sophisticated educational learning systems (e.g., Dreambox) are not available. Good luck with your decision!
Actually any tablet made in 2012 or later will not support flash, as Adobe is no longer supporting it. Most websites are transitioning away from flash for this reason.
We have an iPad and love it. Though, I have been considering getting one of the covertible laptops because I want the ability to burn cd/dvd and play those discs as well. The iPad has a ton of educational apps and I have my pdf instructors guides on it (which saves paper and having to look over the top of a laptop when working with the kids). The negative is that it is locked into Apple, so if they don't have it I can't have it.
If you are already invested in Apple with iPods and such, it might be a good choice to go with the iPad. If not, then the convertible laptop/tablets that are coming out might be the best of both worlds.

I am actually doing Core 6/G with first through eighth graders. I've got the binders and all the books, but because of how it is organized I really only use the schedule and let the SOTW activity guide be our teaching source. Does that make sense?
What I am trying to say, I guess, is that you can combine kids in SL if you work at it and you can make SOTW and the activity guide work if you pre-buy the books you want to use (SL style).
I'm finding that nothing is ever truly open and go past the early elementary years. :)

I didn't call Audry a witch. SHE says she's a witch, so I simply asked about it. I really am clueless to these lifestyles.
It takes a man and woman to make a baby~and so 2mamas obviously had a man at some point~or one of them did. Its just odd and I didn't really think it was 2 women in a relationship. Or they adopted.
This is the FIRST time I've heard of a gay couple homeschooling. You asked me about teaching my kids about current events, etc,,,how will 2 women be ale to teach about God and His creation of 1 man and 1 woman, to reproduce. It wasn't Adam and Steve, it was Adam and Eve (woman).
2 women, one obviously acting as a man, training and teaching children, how weird is that!? Talk about having some confused kids~later adults.

Ouch, I am a follower of Christ and your comments here are quite offensive to me. Jesus' words to his followers were to love God and love others. Your words hold no love.
As to the original topic. I want to say thank you to all who have shared. I have been moving away from the religion that I was raised in, but I am still a follower of Christ, what I have read today helps me to process what I do believe.
I also very much enjoy the diversity of these boards.

I just went ahead and cancelled. I still had a couple weeks to go on my 30 day trial but I figured I better stick with old pen and paper.
Dumb questions, but how did you go about canceling? I think I would like to do that as well.

Has anyone had any luck putting in lesson plans yet? :(
I tried to put in one, and it seemed to work, but it gave me a due date of today even though I selected August 13 as my date.
I also tried to add some literature and ended up at a page full of code when I pressed save.

LOL, this conversation has me laughing at my computer. I'm one of those people who have a very short torso. If I wear "Mom Jeans" the waist band sits right under my chest. That is a very bad look for me. :D
I was in heaven when the low rise jeans came back in style because I finally had a pair of jeans that sat at my natural waist. I dread the high rise jeans coming back in style.
With my longer legs I can even wear skinny jeans, despite being over weight, and still look decent. Even my skinny sister, who tells it like it is, approves of my low rise skinny jeans.
I promise there is no crack or muffin top. I wouldn't be caught dead in public that way. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people in the US who couldn't say the same. :D
As for what mom jeans are - I agree with the person somewhere above that said they can be any style that is wrong for your body. I too have spent a lot of time looking for the right fit for my body.

I have a 6s and my husband and son have the SE. I like the 6s because of the bigger screen, my eyes are getting old LOL. My husband had a 5S and loved it, but the charging port went out ( a common problem I guess.) He chose the SE because it was exactly the same size as his 5S and he could use the same cover. He really likes his SE as does my son.
