Flux, thanks for taking the time to post the updates. :)

:bigear: I would also like to know if something has changed.

:grouphug: I have no advice, but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I have been going through something similar with my daughter also. We are using CLE now and it has helped her a lot, but she has still not memorized her math facts after doing everything you have listed. My daughter also becomes frustrated with Xtramath. I have to type in the answers in order for her to beat the teacher. I am going to just keep trying. I wish you the best of luck.

I just realized this post is from 2009! Lol

There IS a contrary New Orleans tradition of using kidney beans. I use my grandfather's recipe--born and raised in New Orleans like about fifteen generations before him--and he ALWAYS used kidney beans. But you have to take a couple of cupfuls out at the end, mash them, and then stir them back in.

I agree. My family has lived in New Orleans for generations and everyone I know uses red kidney beans. We mash them at the end and add them back in as well.

Thank you soooo much! I have been wanting to buy this forever. :hurray:

I have the same problem finding clothes for my daughter. We have had pretty good luck with Arizona jeans at JCPenney. She can usually fit into one size smaller at Target for shorts and skirts without them being too short. Most of the time it is hard to find the size she needs in ANYTHING. We have to try on several sizes of everything and then sometimes nothing fits. It drives me crazy, and I totally understand you frustration.

My grandparents owned the whole set of The Children's Hour books. I have such fond memories of reading them as a child. It is a wonderful collection to have.

Thanks! I wanted this for next year. :001_smile:

I am from Louisiana, and I pronounce them differently.

In Pa they have lawsuits for Yaz
I live in Louisiana and I have seen commercials about a lawsuit against this company. You can google it.

It's the 'alone in the hotel' that is the snag, imo. As PP has said, no matter how nice the hotel you just never know. It's just not something I would risk. Upscale hotels do have a sitter service available for a fee if that would be a consideration. But, I would not leave my 10 y/o dd alone in any hotel tehse days. Sorry.
:iagree:

This has happened to me several times recently! I never called about it because I didn't really need the items by a specific date.

I was taught to spell it dilemna. 30, private Catholic elementary school

That brought tears to my eyes. Awesome.

The book is way too deep and disturbing for 3rd and 4th graders in my opinion. I was forced to read it in eighth grade. I remember thinking that it was weird for my teacher to want us to read it.

I am interested to see the answers you get. My daughter is the same way.

I just wanted to say that my son sounds a lot like yours. It is so exhausting to deal with that kind of behavior. I have no advice. I just wanted to offer some sympathy and understanding. I hope it does get better. :grouphug:

I would definitely take her to the emergency room. Something similar happened to my dd when she was younger. She was hospitalized for 3 or 4 days with IV antibiotics.
