Maureen in Hawaii
Aloha all, I teach co-op classes here in Hawaii and will be tackling P/SAT prep soon. So far I've looked through College Prep Genius, Barron's, McGraw-Hill and the College Board materials. Does anyone have a recommendation one way or the other on any of these materials? Thanks so much! Maureen Combes - Currently teaching Latin, IEW Writing, Logic and Rhetoric, and P/SAT prep www.mentatescholars.com
Guest toteachthemwell
I would like to hear reviews for these as well.
Brenda in MA
I liked the College Prep Genius DVDs for overall strategy. We didn't find her acronyms very useful. For actual practice, the College Board Blue Book was the most helpful. This advice would be for students who are already strong in English, Writing, and Math and just need advice on test-taking and practice with the types of questions that are on the SAT & PSAT. If you have students who need instruction in the basics of math or grammar/writing, then I'd use something else in addition.
