Pata Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 All this talk about All About Spelling got me looking at again and thinking about using it for next year. If I do I will have to cut ETC books 4-6 since I don't have the budget for both. So what do you think?? By the end of the year she will have completed the HOP program. Which means that we will have introduced all of phonics by then. I know that she will not have mastered it all which is why I was planning to continue with ETC, but the grass is always greener on the other side. My dd does like ETC, but workbooks are not her favorite, somedays it's no problems, somedays it's a fight. So, I'm wondering if All About Spelling might be a better choice for us? What do you all think? Quote
mamato3 all-boy boys Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 ..If you feel like your daughter is reaping benefits from ETC, then I wouldn't stop using them. And, am I reading your siggy right that your dd is 5 yo? I think there is much value in ETC. We worked through book 4, then switched to a workbook based spelling program. If I had to do it again - ds is The Guinea Pig -- I wouldn't have dropped ETC for the spelling books. I should've kept on going with ETC and finished the series. Live and learn, though. Just my 1/2 cent -- probably not even worth that;) Quote
HiddenJewel Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 From the looks of the All About Spelling samples, I would be dropping the ETC. But then ETC, for us, gets really repetitive once a certain point is reached. Quote
