Alpha Phonics??

Does anyone know what reading level the child would be at after completing the entire book?:confused:

Both my ds and dd were reading at about late 2nd grade or about 3rd grade level after. They could read most level 4 readers sold in book stores and just about any other books that early /mid chapter book. We did alot of read alouds and reading other books while doing alphaphonics.

Do you have any book recommendations that went well with Alpha Phonics?

We will be starting it on Monday.;)

Did you find it was a thorough phonics program or did you substitute with Explode the Code or anything?

Alpha Phonics worked well for about 90% of my students. The other 10% started guessing from the word families. I switched to other programs with those students, you could start going across instead of down if you find you're having that problem.

I've used Nora Gaydos books along with it. They are colorful and really fun stories. My ds was reading anything I gave to him by the end.

I used bob books, Nora Gaydos Sonlight readers that were given to me .After that we picked up easy books from the library and read together, They read one page and i read the other.
