imeverywoman
We did this when I graduated from 8th and I wonder if it is still practiced. I have a soon to be 9th grader (WHAT????) and am tossing the idea around.
Only me
We are having a small party for my dd the end of this month for 8th grade graduation. We did the same for her older sis when she was that age. We will be inviting all grandparents and aunts, uncles and cousins from my husband's side. We will have about 20 total.
Ellie
I had never heard of such a thing until I moved to California, but then, in Calif, South Carolina, and Texas junior high was 7th, 8th and 9th, so of course there would be no "graduation" for 8th. I'm guessing that 8th grade graduation was more common in the day when many schools pretty much ended at 8th, with no high school, KWIM? So, no, we didn't "graduate" anyone at 8th grade. Brooketopia
I went to public school not too long ago and when I graduated from eighth grade it was a big deal. No ceremony or anything, but people gave me gifts and stuff, which came as a surprise to me. I figure it's rather normal and you wouldn't be thought of as odd for having a "graduation." Happy
Not us. It's not an end in my opinion. Start saving for a big bash at the end of high school and college! Happy (who is planning her 'baby's' high school graduation bash right now...)
