Caroline4kids
Our Latin history: We are wrapping up LC 1 and I was going to go on to First Form, but I have no idea what that is really going to be like. I want to keep going with Latin through the summer and am not sure if I should switch programs. Frankly, I want all grammar/diagramming/latin/vocabulary to be in one program. Does this exist? I hear a lot of excitement about TGLA and am very curious. Is this a great LCC choice? Does it cover a lot of English grammar? I have looked at the samples but they were from the second course and I need a review from a more experienced source. TIA
Corraleno
I'm also very interested in this curriculum, the sample lessons are excellent. However, I'd prefer a secular curriculum, so I was wondering how much religious content there is? Thanks in advance, Jackie

TIA I believe that if you scroll down to the bottom of the GLA samples page that they now have Level I samples to view. At least they did the last time I was in there...about a week ago. I received my GLA last week. It looks great and I can't wait to get started, but since I have not actually used it yet, I hesitate to respond with a LC and GLA comparison. I personally think it looks mucho better than LC (which my middle son used) when it comes to the child actually understanding, using, and retaining...but again, I cannot say for sure. I don't know that it contains tons of English Grammar, but it does contain a lot of English Derivatives which is wonderful! It seems to me that a lot of GLA Level I would be review of LC I, but I think the review would be worth it if your student did not really "get" the Latin concepts taught in LC I. But again...I don't know! I don't own LC I anymore to do a side-by-side comparison.
Classical Katharine
Jackie, the Christian content of GLA is located primarily in the derivative worksheets. In later chapters there are more translation sentences with Christian themes than there are in early chapters, but most translation work is about other topics.
