LibrarianMom
Has anyone used 200 things to do with Logic Blocks or Pattern Block Activities for Primary Grades? The Pattern Block Activities also has books for 4-6 and 6-8 as well. I've had these on my RR wish list for some time but am reluctant to bite the bullet as they are kind of pricey. They look like they would be wonderful in a classroom or co-op situation but I'm not sure about one on one with my DD for now and DS for later. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Chris in VA
I can't speak to the effectiveness of the books you've listed, but I can say that I have LOVED using attribute blocks and pattern blocks with dd. They are two different things, btw, in case you didn't know. I think you could probably google and find plenty of material to help you, saving you the expense. Do you already have the two kinds of blocks? I bought wooden pattern blocks first, when I started Saxon. I like the way they use them for the young kids. LibrarianMom
Thanks for your suggestions Chris! I do have both kinds of blocks for using with Building Thinking Skills and have some pattern block activity cards we have used some. I have found some ideas for using the blocks that tend to focus on the primary years and need to look more. I was interested in these items as they extend up through later grades as well and appear to utilize the blocks more fully.
