Ohdanigirl
Ok I just got a payment from someone that is unverified and is a credit card payment. I can't accept it but don't know how to not accept it so it will go back to the person. Does anyone know? Do I just do nothing and since I didn't accept they will be able to cancel? please help! melissel
Do you mean you can't accept it because you don't have the right type of account? Or you won't accept it because they're unverified and/or you don't want to pay the fee? If it's the former, IIRC, you should see an option to accept the payment and upgrade your account or reject the payment. If it's the latter, then your account has probably already accepted it, and you can go into the transaction details and refund the money using the refund link. At least, I think that's the way it still works, though I'm not looking at my account to be sure.
HappyCrazyMama
You can now take up to 5 credit card payments a year with a personal account. If you click accept it will give you the option of upgrading your account or not. OTOH was this sale through eBay? Because now to accept any eBay payments you must have a Business account, if you don't you must upgrade and you CAN.NOT. CANCEL. I found that out the hard way and was furious. MBH
Just log into your account and click on "deny" or "reject". It will ask if you are sure and go on to explain that you can accept upto 5 credit card payments per year. I always reject, because I've been burned before. I have a personal acct and do not want to upgrade. Also I do not feel comfortable accepting from an unverified acct. With all the bad things I have heard lately about Paypal I don't want to put myself at risk. I was uaware that I would have to upgrade, since I thought I could accept 5 cc. But if I have to upgrade and can't cancel, I won't. The person paid before I sent the invoice and there is no option to reject, just an accept button. I never sell anything and always donate, now that I have heard all these thigs lately I think I will just donate all hs material to Good Samaritan. Now if I can just fix this. You can upgrade and accept and then downgrade your account. You can downgrade your account once in your lifetime. Unfortunately for me I had already downgraded once and so to get a personal account again I had to get a new email address and new Paypal account. UGH! The only other thing to is refuse to accept it I don't know what happents then and the buyer could leave you a negative feedback on eBay. I don't use eBay for curriculum selling anymore there are just as good of sites and they are free! ETA- I don't know if they allow refusing for being unverified either.

Then it would just be a heads up that your money might be about to vanish into thin air. Gee, thanks!
