I am looking for some other great Christian homeschooling sites. There are a lot of things I'd like to read about and I'm just not sure where to begin. Can anyone direct me toward your favorites? Thanks! :)

What are you hoping to read about? There are a lot of sites out there, but could you be a little more specific?

Good question. Thank you for asking. I am in my fifth year of homeschooling and I feel like I'm just now really getting the hang of it. But I feel like an overall vision is lacking. I also feel like I never really sat down and educated myself about some of the basics, such as learning styles, stages of learning, and the larger picture from K to High School.

I started homeschooling because I felt it was the right thing for us to do, and because I wanted to be the one teaching my children. It wasn't because I had a great passion for education or a real desire to homeschool. However, in the process of just pushing through I have really come to appreciate and enjoy homeschooling! Some days are chaotic, but that is just a part of the stage of life we are in.

My kids are 9,8,5,2 and 1. So things have been busy. I feel like I have been in survival mode for way too long. Now I am wanting to take the time to do some of the things that many people do *before* they begin homeschooling. I am trying to be positive and tell myself "better late than never." :)

Also, I'd like to find a good board to discuss things like curriculum, home management, co-ps, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions that have already been posted! I will check them out!

Not sure if these apply as they are curriculum related, but they do have helpful info and HOD has a wonderful message board:

It's funny that you mention this. I am considering using HOD "Preparing" next year. I am not sure if we would use the teaching manual or not, but I am very interested in this curriculum. The little time I have spent of their boards has left a positive impression. The ladies seem very encouraging and full of grace.

I always recommend this book for information on homeschooling methods and learning styles. It is not exactly the same thing you are looking for, but some of it is.

I really hear you! I feel the same way.

I could have written this exact thing about six years ago. My children are all close in age and I had five, eight and under when our last baby was born. The last few years have been amazing now that our "baby" is six. I felt like I came out of the fog of busy baby life. It was a *good* busy baby life, but five children 8 and under was a bit crazy! I jumped in with two feet too and know what you are feeling.

This board is a very large one with all sorts of people from different walks of life/faiths/experiences. I have found that while I don't always agree with everything people say, I really appreciate the wide variety of comments that come with any questions I ask. I have been a participant on the WTM boards since almost the beginning and there is a lot know collective knowledge and experience with many topics. I have tried other boards, but always come back here. :D

Do you get any homeschool magazines? I know a lot of homeschool moms like them and benefit from regular the encouragement. This magazine offers a lot of their older articles online. The link brings you to their article page. It is a large list you can scroll down and look through. You might find something helpful. There are articles and interviews on all sorts of topics.

HTH!
