another bread baking / mixer question

Recommended Posts

I've just started baking bread regularly and enjoy kneading the dough but didn't realize how much time it takes when you have a lot of other things that also have to get done. My budget is tight but I'm seriously thinking of buying a good mixer. I don't much care for bread machines. What would be the cheapest, decent mixer I could buy that handles mixing dough? Sam's sells a Kitchen Aid mixer for about $260 but that's more than I would like to spend. We're a family of 3 if that matters. Thanks so much in advance.

I've had it for a few years now and it's still going strong. I really only use it for bread, but it makes light work of bread making and makes several loaves.

Comes with a blender as well. You've probably seen them. My friend's Kitchenaid just doesn't do the job as well for some reason.

:iagree:I also have had the Bosch and used it heavily. For the money I feel it is better than the Kitchen Aid.

I now have an Elextrolux and really like it. It is a work horse but lots more $'s.
