liltrees
:001_huh:I'm using the 2nd edition of TWTM to get ready for our next "school year". I have a ds7 and a ds5. My question is regarding the ds7: Do I need FLL, English for the Thoughtful Child and WWE? All the books are starting to confuse me.......I have penmanship and phonics taken care of....but what of grammar/writing? He will be "1st grade". Any help would be appreciated!!! abbeyej
FLL replaces English for the Thoughtful Child. You can use either one of them for grammar (and a little copywork). Personally, I prefer FLL. WWE is for writing. There is a *little* overlap between these, but they focus on different skills. So pick FLL *or* EftTC, then add in WWE as well (though I would wait till the child is reading a bit and has a good handle on basic handwriting first). brehon
No, you don't need all of those. Pick either FLL or EFTC. I'm not sure where WWE fits in with either of those two as I don't use it. I understand that some people don't start WWE until their dc have finished a certain amount of FLL (or other similar program). Not sure this is written in stone, though.
