Yay! It looks awesome! Those who decide not to continue past ECC are missing out! I've heard that the history years are different than ECC and it is so true! BTW, after reviewing the manual and literature lists, I can't find anything "light". ;) The read a loud books look great and I love the wonderfully long literature list supplied to enrich history and science located at the back of the manual. The literature list corresponds with each week of science and history studied and of course, I love the weekly grid which is always helpful. No planning! We still have a few months with ECC but I can't wait to start CTG. A few moms in my local hs group will be using CTG this fall and my dc are excited about the possibility of joining the other families for activities too.

I love the timeline pics also but I think we will use Book of the Centuries due to our limited space. We don't have any room to hang a timeline.

The composer and art study tie in so well.

I just simply love the fact that we are using the Bible as a spine. The the Biblical Celebration of Feasts looks awesome. I haven't seen this in any other Ancients curriculum. Again, this is so cool!

I wish everyone could put their hands on a manual when researching MFW. It makes such a difference.

Now I have a dilemma. I'm torn with the science. My children initially wanted to do the CTG Science then decided to a Life Science study using God's Design for Life series. After getting my hands on Genesis for Kids and reading through its pages, I would like to go with CTG Science. It looks really good and it ties in nicely with the lessons and I also don't want to bombard our lessons with too much science by a Life Science study. I really love the Charlotte Mason approach which MFW comprises and I want us to have plenty of time to enjoy our literature and nature studies in the way MFW has been designed. We have planned a lot of dissecting and hands on activities with our Life Science study but MFW balances the science and everything else just right throughout the year. The Genesis for Kids book is packed full of experiments (for those who would like to know) and it's for ages 8-14. The experiments are broken down according to the days of creation such as Day 1 Light and Dark, Day 2 Air and Water, Day 3 Earth and Plants, Day 4 Sun, Moon, and Universe, Day 5 Fish and Birds, Day 6 Animals and People, and Day 7 Rest. For those who may not know, you can see how these topics are planned in the online sample of CTG. Oh, decisions! Decisions! Oh the agony of it all! LOL:lol:

Kysha,

So glad for you! We really liked Genesis for Kids, I think you could add in more science after Genesis. Later in the year especially, I know we did because we love science and later in the year it's more reading than experiments (although you shouldn't miss Archimedes). We did MFW science and then added in other science.

I think you'll love CTG, it has been my favorite year!

That's a great idea, Dawn! This morning, I have been looking at how we could possibly tie our Life Science into the Genesis for Kids Days of Creation experiments. That would please all and It just may work.;)

I'm so so so glad that you've been able to continue with MFW. (I know, I've told you that more than once. :))

My plan is to do the Science a la MFW and add in extras if necessary. We'll see how it goes.

We'll be starting CtG sometime in May, after we move. I can't wait!!!!

Audrey, you are moving? I need to keep up with you. LOL Is it far? I'm praying for a smooth transition for you. I know it can't be easy to move esp while pregnant and with littles. Thanks so much for the ideas. Courtney left a great one on the MFW forum today. She suggested setting aside an experiment day for the G4K experiments and utilizing the other days for our life science. How cool! Sounds like a winner in my book. ;)

PS. Your pg pic looks so cute! I looked like a whale. :D
