Frontier Mom
I am planning on using this and don't know if I should schedule by time per day, assignments or other. I would like to give a credit for this but not sure if I necessarily want to do it all in one year, start over the summer, schedule so much time and let him progress until his speed is sufficient, etc. As you can tell, I am currently trying to pull all my scheduling together for next year. This is Deluxe BTW. Edited April 16, 2009 by Frontier Mom
Miss Marple
I never used it for credit, but I scheduled 15 minutes per day. I did have to make sure the boys didn't just do the games. I have 2 who are proficient at 60 wpm and 2 who get by at about 30-40 wpm. I'm still scheduling 15 minutes 4 days per week for the youngest 2. jellogirl
Time per day is probably the easiest with typing. But definitely monitor their progress so that they don't end up with gaps!
Frontier Mom
Thanks. I remember taking typing in hs for credit so I was thinking of starting and defining time each day. Then, when they have obtained a pace that is satisfactory, and I am very picky about this, I will award them one credit. They probably won't need the credit but I will still give it for mastery. Storm Bay
Dd did this program, and I just let her "have at it." No schedule, no credit, just put it on her list of subjects. She can type. I consider typing at the age she did it (12) optional, but I am old-fashioned--oops, old school ;).
