sdstren
Missing 16 yo girl Please pray for this girl. Her name is Deanna Niven. She is the daughter of our long-time friends. She left her home yesterday (Easter Sunday) at around 6:30 pm to go to Walmart to have some photos developed. She was driving her parents' minivan. After a couple of hours, her parents became worried when she had not returned home nor was answering her cell phone. Her father went to look for her and found the family van in the Wal-mart parking lot (Alabaster, AL). The van was unlocked and Deanna's keys and phone were inside. Wal-mart surveillance cameras show Deanna leaving in a silver van, most likely a Dodge Caravan, with a luggage rack on top. It is unclear at this time whether she was leaving voluntarily or not. This is highly out of character for Deanna. There has been no news of her whereabouts or fate since yesterday. Please pray for Deanna's safe return and for peace for her parents and 4 siblings. In the attached photo, Deanna is wearing her Easter dress. She was wearing this same dress when she left to go to Walmart. If by some miracle you have seen Deanna, please contact the Alabaster police department at 205-663-7401. Please download a copy of Deanna's picture and forward this request and information on to every person and list that you have access to. Thank you. Doran
I'm so sorry this has happened!!! I can't even imagine the fear. I checked for her on the Amber Alert site and didn't find her. Do you think that's because it's not yet clear that she was actually abducted (ie: may have left voluntarily?). Do you have any idea whether she could have been seeing someone in secret? No matter -- I will keep this family in my thoughts. This is every parent's worst nightmare. :grouphug:

Donna T.
Oh, No! I am so sorry for these parents and this young girl. I will be praying and praying for her safety. Please update us the minute that you hear of her safety. I live in Baldwin County. I also work in the shelter system. It is very common for us to hear of young girls who end up down here from other parts of the state. They often come here with young men that they are seeing (because of our beaches, kids just congregate down here... especially this time of year). Also, one dirty little secret that no one likes to talk about around here much is that we are a hot bed for child predators... again, something about the beach lifestyle. Not trying to sound crazy, it really is something that we hear about frequently. I hope the authorities in her area will consider that. I'm sure they will. Catwoman
I hope it's true that she's safe! I have been thinking about her since I read this thread earlier today. I just did a quick Google search, and all of the links I found are saying she's still missing. I really hope your information is the most current, and that she's unharmed and on her way back to her family. sdstren
I am a friend of the Niven family and it has been confirmed that Deanna has been found. Two adult males were arrested, and Deanna will be reunited with her family in a few hours. She is safe and alive. Thank you Lord! There have been people praying all over the world round the clock for this girl. We are so thankful to have such an outcome. I will post more details as they become available. Thank you all for your concern and prayers! Edited April 15, 2009 by sdstren

Catwoman
I was quite surprised to learn that she'd run away from home, but hopefully she has learned her lesson -- and she is very fortunate that she wasn't hurt while she was away. I looked at that site earlier today and those pics and links were NOT there! That's terrible that someone would do that to a group site set up to help find a missing girl. :glare:
sdstren
I just wanted to warn everyone regarding the facebook group that was set up for her. Her brother set it up so everyone could stay informed. Unfortunately, some sick minds posted some graphic pornographic content and he is trying desparately to get it removed quickly. He is just a kid himself (highschool age), so he is learning as he goes. How unfortunate that some weirdos would put this poor family through further trauma after what they have already been through over the past couple of days. Continue to keep their family in your prayers against further attack.
