I'm intrigued by this curriculum for my dd 8.5, and ds 7, for 2nd and 3rd grade next year.

Has anyone used this and what do you think, pros and cons?

What kind of comparison can you make between this and CLE science??

Thank you!!!

We just started REAL Science Odyssey (Earth for my 7yo and Chemistry for my 8yo). They both love it. I'm using the free sample right now, but I'm pretty sure we'll end up buying both programs. I'm going to start using Pandia's History Odyssey as well.

The samples are here:

I've never used CLE, so I can't help you there. RSO is secular, which we prefer (even though we are Christian), so if you're looking for a religious-based program it may not be a good fit for you.

I haven't used it yet, but 2 of my good friends have and they love it. I'm planning to use the Earth Science for my 2nd grader next year. I've purchased it and read through the whole thing. I'm very impressed. It have lots of experiments, 1-2 per week. I know my dd will love it!!

We've moved away from R.E.A.L. Science now that my dd is older (11) ~not that you can't use it for that age!~ We really enjoyed it. I love how the lessons are laid out, I enjoyed the experiments (could've used less experiments, because we aren't that experiment oriented...) I like that extra resources were organized in the beginning along with overviews of the plans and things you'll need for each lesson.

My daughter enjoyed it also. It was perfectly tailored for her at the time. Interesting, appealing, yet simple.

My two in 2nd and 3rd are using LIfe now and will use Chemistry next year. We are liking it and they are retaining, if not as much as I would like, at least more than they were before. It is easy to open and go with little preparation and most experiments are easy to do.
