Wendi
My ds has done the sixth grade level of Vocabulary from Classical Roots. I was planning to have him do books A and B next year (7th). But as I look at the sample pages of Great Latin Adventure (which I'm planning to use), I see that it covers Latin derivatives pretty thoroughly. So I think doing both next year would be overkill. (Although I do realize that VCR will cover some Greek roots, too.) Do you agree? Between Great Latin Adventure and Lightning Literature 7, won't we be doing enough vocabulary to skip doing a separate workbook? What do you think? Thanks, Wendi
kloumc
Hi Wendi, There really is a strong English-vocabulary-building component built into the Great Latin Adventure! Each chapter has a wonderful derivative worksheet, and these words show up again on the quizzes. My kids learned lots of great vocabulary from this program. With the vocabulary your daughter will be getting from GLA and from Lighting Literature 7, I don't think you'll need an additional vocabulary program.
