DeeDeeMarie0
I have Rosetta Stone spanish and my boys have never liked it, although I know many people who do like it. My 12 yo ds is wanting to study Chinese and has been quite serious about this. I found an offer for Tell Me More Foreign Languages on the Homeschool Buyers Co-op site. Can anyone tell me what they think of this?
mamaof2andtwins
Oh, I got my Homeschool Buyer's Co-op update this morning, and I so want to get this. It seems so good, but I don't know anyone who actually uses it. I did read a great review for it several months ago. So...:lurk5: Jennie
usetoschool
A card came for this in a homeschool advertisement packet I received the other day. I had never heard of it before. I did find this review which puts it at #1. When I try to search for it on this forum I keep getting a message that the words in the name are to common and it comes back with no results. I was wondering also if anyone has ever used it. :bigear:
AngieW in Texas
I'm using it with my 13yo right now. Arlington Public Library has it available for just a few languages, but Spanish is one of them. We tried Rosetta Stone before, but it was a bust. My dd needs to be told what the words mean, not have to guess based on a picture. We've been using Tell Me More since February and are happy with it. We're going very slowly because my dd is Aspie and gets overwhelmed quite easily. We do Spanish for just 15 minutes at a time, three days/week. If we keep this up for the rest of 8th grade and all of 9th and 10th, then she should be able to handle taking Spanish classes at the cc when she's in 11th grade. mamaof2andtwins
I wanted to mention that we downloaded the free trial from the website last night. It looks pretty neat. It was harder to get a feel for the ones that jump you right into the middle of the program, but for the Spanish (Latin American) Beginner program I liked what I saw. You might consider trying to download the free trial. Jennie
LanaTron
I know there has been a little discussion on the high school board, but again, not too many people are using it. I think it has received mixed reviews over there.
