Disney World in FL...

fall or winter.

If you go in the fall, say October, you can still hit warm enough days to go to the water parks. Crowds aren't too bad as long as you avoid Columbus Day weekend. I've heard crowding starts getting bad after Thanksgiving and grows until Christmas. The week after New Year's isn't too bad until you get really close to the marathon weekend. It emptys out quickly after about Monday.

We went the third weekend of January this year. It was crowded then, surprisingly. There were a lot of "college" age tour groups from Brazil. (They were that age looking and had Brazil shirts on almost every day!) When we got home someone told me that when Carnival is down there.

Winter is supposed to be ok until Spring break time (about now) and then it's crowded until June. You can try tourguidemike.com (or something like that). The stuff on his site says he's very good at picking when to go, but I don't want to spend the money to get his advice.

We live in Florida. We only do the parks Oct-mid November, or late Feb-early April, and we only go during the week days. The weather will be warm, but not HOT, might get some rain, but usually only for a hour or so.

We have went once before moving to Florida, so we were full-on tourists, during Christmas week. That was HORRIBLE!! The crowds were so HUGE, the park that we were at was actually at capacity, per annoucements.

Now that we are only a hour or so, we take 2-3 day trips a few times a year, and we have never had a problem with crowds.

Last time we went to Disney, last April, went on a Monday, and we waited 5-10 minutes at the most. We went on Space Mountain (a hugely popular roller coaster) FOUR TIMES...walking right on.

We would never go late May-early September. Not only are you talking huge crowds, but the heat will make all families cranky in a matter of hours. Sore feet, tired, and HOT! Not a fun day.

If you can still take advantage of the free dining plan, mid-late September is not bad. Still hot, but less crowded. Hotel prices are usually lower then as well - they bump up a bit when the weather gets nicer! At least, that is what I have found to be true on Disney property.

We have gone twice in late April to early May and both times were great--weather-wise and crowd-wise. We've also gone once during early-mid Feb. and it was really low attendance, but a bit cool for the pool and side trips to the beach.

We avoid the fall due to hurricane season!

We just went the first week of March. The lines were pretty short for everything and they had fast passes for the few rides that had lines.

It seemed like most of France was there and a few of them seemed unaware that some Americans are able to understand spoken French.

October. Weather is nice, and least crowded time of the year.

I grew up in FL and they used to offer a Florida Resident discount in October because it is their "slow" month. I think they now offer the discount year-round, but these days they need to get people in no matter the season.

Last year we got 4-day tickets at the beginning of the year. Our first time to go was between Christmas and New Year's. It was way too cold for all my FL babies :001_smile: and it was incredibly crowded. The other 3 times we went were in Jan, Feb, and Apr (on weekdays) and it was much more pleasant an a lot less crowded. April is starting to get a little hot and muggy, but not as bad as it will be from June to mid-Oct. I never go anywhere outside around here during those months.

But first, it may depend on what is important to you. Our biggest goal is low crowds at the parks, and water parks/swimming is very much secondary.

We have been in June (very bad - heat and crowds)....2nd week December - loved it! Empty parks, beautifully decorated for Christmas, but can't necessarily swim much....2nd week November - also low crowds, low swimming potential...and most recently the 1st week in March - pretty low crowds except 2 days, and much warmer so the boys swam quite a bit.

Enjoy whenever you go!
