Colleen in NS
What is the weather like in W'burg VA at the end of April/beg. of May? Trying to figure out what to pack - still in sweaters and turtlenecks here in Canada, so I'm having a hard time imagining warm weather.... Nestof3
Oh, my. That's a difficult one. Most likely it will be in the 70's, but it can vary -- it can get quite hotter than that. Your best bet would be to go to www.weather.com and check it out about a week ahead of time.

The trees will be leafing out and mid-spring flowers will be blooming -- at least in a normal year they will be :). Bring rain coats and a light weight jacket. You might also want to bring a sweater to wear under the jacket for evenings.
Colleen in NS
Thank you! Looking forward to warm weather!
Guest Virginia Dawn
I would prepare for a range of weather between the mid 70's and mid 80's, with cooler evenings than days. I wouldn't think you would need the sweater to go under a jacket. We usually turn the AC on in the first week of May. You may even want to bring a couple pairs of shorts. Definitely bring rain gear. skaterbabs
The trick with VA weather is that is can be extremely changeable and unpredictable. It could be in the 50s and raining, or in the upper 80s, humid and sunny. All within the same week! Days can go from the upper 50s/low 60s in the morning to the upper 80s/low 90s in the afternoon. My suggestion would be to pack lighter clothes, but WEAR jeans and jackets (or vice versa if it's really warm when you get here) because even on the hottest days the insides of buildings are air conditioned enough to chill even the warmest natured person. Colleen in NS
Thanks for the help! I'm writing things down from here and from the "what to bring to a convention" thread.
skaterbabs
Barring it being VERY warm, you'll likely find me wearing jeans, a knit shirt, and my favorite cardigan. lol I don't like air conditioning much. ;) If it's super warm, I may wear a skirt or dress. (Again, with my sweater. It literally goes everywhere with me and if I could find it in every color I'd be in Heaven! LOL)
