TMarie
I am seriously thinking about jumping off the TOG boat now that I've found Truthquest. I need some hand-holding when it comes to teaching history with a Christian worldview and TOG did a great job. Although I did sometimes feel that we circled an idea without the teacher (me) ever getting to the heart of the issue. I didn't love TOG writing. Don't really need to cover government & church history every semester. Timeline is easy to do alone. But I will miss the maps. what else? Oh ~ the schedule! I love having a schedule. Would Truthquest for philosophy/worldview and Biblioplan for the schedule work? Any TruthQuesters out there?
mama25angels
yes, I believe it would. I've heard of people using both and letting Biblioplan drive the schedule so to speak and adding in the TQ commentary.
Woodland_Mom
Biblioplan also sells a nice set of maps (Knowledge Quest Maps) for each history lesson plan/set. The map activities are well writen and scheduled, too!
Julieofsardis
I think it would be fairly easy to put together a schedule using Truthquest and the books that you decide to use. I'm afraid that Biblioplan would not mesh well enough to be of great benefit. In other words, I think you'd still have to revamp the schedule to fit Truthquest. I'm thinking of using History Odessey for my guide as to how to put the schedule together and Truthquest for the substance. I like the book selections and commentary in Truthquest, but the layout of HO. I also like some of the topics covered in HO.
mom4him
We are going to be using TQ starting this next school year. I have several of the manuals and really like the way they are set up. You can cover as little or as much as you want on each subject. You are not limited to someone elses schedule.

But I like TQ for the content.
TMarie
The Biblioplan maps look great ~ thanks for that! I'm not seeing a History Odyssey for middle schoolers & modern era, but will keep looking.... Any other comments on scheduling Truthquest, with or without Biblioplan? I tend to over-schedule my kids when I'm left to my own plans. :001_huh:

Perhaps one of TQ Users on the Yahoo loop would already have a schedule for the guide you want.
