Di3kids
So, after discussing many programs with hubby, we have decided to go with Winter Promise Quest for Ancient World for 4th and 7th grade daughters (9th grader will be using High School MFW Ancient Hx and Lit). We have had great success with Rod and Staff English and Spelling Workout, but the lang. arts in WP looks very "fun." I don't want to switch lang. arts just out of curriculum envy. My husband says we shouldn't fix what isn't broken. Can anybody compare the two? Convince me one way or another?
PeterPan
I agree with your dh, don't fix what isn't broken! But you could easily buy *1* think that appeals to you from the WP LA suggestions and add to your mix. ;) For instance, we're doing Spelling Works! from the 6th gr recs for WP LA this year and liking it a lot. Grammar with a Giggle from the 7th gr listings looks good. I have Paragraph Writing Made Easy (from the 5th gr list) to use with dd this summer and it looks fabulous, just what I was looking for. So just pick one thing from them you particularly like, that's my advice. A little spice is nice, something to perk up your solid mix and add a twinkle. SnowWhite
I agree with OhElizabeth. I would add that I highly recommend the reader package and think it adds much to the history content in the level I used this year.
Di3kids
Wise advice to stick with what works and maybe just add a little "spice" for a "twinkle." Loved how you put that, OhElizabeth! Diane
