Janie
And I don't have weeks and weeks to do this. I would love a peek at your schedule; how did you break it down into days?, what exactly did you cover?, etc. Anything will help! Thanks! MamaT
When I covered this area with my four dc this year, I used History of US by Hakiim for the youngers. My 9th grader used Basic History of the US. My 9th grader also read All Quiet on the Western Front and Sgt. York and the Great War. He also had to read a viewpoint pro and con on the US entering the war from Opposing Viewpoints in American History. He took one viewpoint to support and wrote a paper on it. We also read through the WWI from The World at War series. We also watched the Sgt. York movie. We spent about 2 1/2 weeks on WWI.
amtmcm
Very eye opening. It clearly covers all of the events which lead up to WWI and sets up the events for WWII. Of course the author has a very specific Worldview and this would make for an excellent class discussion.
Shifra
Have you tried the book Where Poppies Grow: A World War I Companion by Linda Granfield? I really enjoyed it when I got it out of my local library. Shifra
