Kfamily
I just had to share here. I hope this doesn't sound like bragging but my heart is overwhelmed sometimes. My dd in K has really taken to writing. She just showed me a story she wrote about Robinson Crusoe (only she wrote "from the beginning") and his parents and their little boy. She even used quotation marks around their speech! She even named his boat Dawn Treader. She is reading Prince Caspian (for the 2nd time) so she reads amazingly well and I know she must just absorb this. She asked for help with the spelling of about 7 words but her story filled all of the front side and most of the back side of the paper. Is this how it works? She just absorbs this and often only sees it once and spits right back out. It is so amazing. She is like this with the piano too. We have a wonderful teacher who can really challenge her but her teacher shows her a section and she plays it back quite easily. I just can't get used to this. Thanks for listening. I just have to share sometimes.:D Edited April 3, 2009 by Kfamily

Kfamily
This is her story: Once upon a time there was a old man and his wife too. They lived in a cottage on a mountian. And one day they had a baby boy. he was named Robinson Crusoe, for they were the Crusoes Family. and so one day he said that he was ruuning away to a island and some day come back home. his parents was very shocked at this. They said "What if you never come back" he said now I said that I would come back not that I said I would never come back. So the next moring He set sail on a handsome boat. her name was the Dawn Treder. it had beautiful white sails and a beautiful brown tiller too. So her set sail on his boat one day there was a terrible storm and it shaked the whole boat One day he was ship recked on a Island too and he made a tent inside a cave. he got a dog and two cats and a goat. That's all she has so far and I typed it as she wrote it (no edits:001_smile:) but I know she asked her sister for help with the spelling of several words and I can see where she erased in many places so she had some help with spelling. Just wanted to share the story....I thought is was soo cute!! I will save this one forever.
