hmschoolmom22
do you like yours? would you recommend it? I would like to keep the price under $200 if possible. Thanks!
mamagina7
We run a cleaning business and we love the Bissel canaster vacuumes that we buy at Walmart for between $60-80...sounds cheap, but we use them everyday all day long. They last, can take a beating, and even if they do break down after a couple of years we have gotten our money out them. We love the attachments, they are easy to clean and our favorite have extra long cords. I think you could try it and return it if you're not satisfied. FriedClams
We have a Kenmore that was a Consumer Reports best buy. It was around $200-$250. It's a canister and I LOVE it. It's great on hard floors (you can turn off the brush and just suck stuff in) and carpet. I can park the canister in the living room and the kids can vacuum. They love it. Pretty sweet! gardening momma
I had a Husky (made by Husqvarna) vacuum before I was married that I really liked. It was a $200 value (got it free with a purchase of a sewing machine). Then someone in this household ruined it by vacuuming up too many Christmas tree needles at a time. So we replaced it with a Eureka Boss. We looked at Consumer Reports for recommendations, and it got high ratings. We like it very much. It's bagless--easy to empty, easy to see when it's full. Nice to not have to buy more bags. I don't remember how much it was, but I'm sure it was $200 or less. I requested & received a Bissell Feather Weight stick vacuum for Christmas. I really like it. It's essentially a handheld vac, with a long handle attachment, and a brush attachent that goes on the vacuum-end of the vac. Mine's electric, which I wanted because I've never had a rechargeable vac that holds it's charge. I use mine on my wood floors, and recently tried it for the first time on carpet for small areas, and it works great on both (except on carpet I can only pull it back, not push forward, but it's so lightweight that it's easy to just lift, reposition, draw back to vac, lift, reposition, etc). It was about $20, I think. I like it because I don't have to lug out the big vacuum for tidying up. I looked at reviews for several different stick vacs before deciding on this one.
