Jean in Newcastle
My kids are obsessed! A science book substituted for the history book we are reading at breakfast, a whoopie cushion made out of a balloon, dd has dressed all in black to be "invisible". . . None of it is bad - just silly stuff but it is constant. I told them that April Fool's day is over . . . in the Phillipines and Japan. They gave me a lecture on the international dateline!:glare:

Tutor
LOL! Too funny! My kids completely forgot. Because of the crazy weather we've had recently, it was rather easy to convince my kids that we were expecting a snowstorm later this afternoon and that the temps were going to drop drastically so to dress warmly. My ds8 picked it up right away and my ds5 is clueless :001_smile: but my dd10 and my dd12 took it hook, line, and sinker - heavy sweaters, stockings, long pants, warm shoes, turtlenecks, the works! All morning the were feeling the windows saying, "It's getting cooler outside." My dd12 even went out to feed the cat and said, "It's a little cool out now, when is it supposed to get colder?" i finally had to let them in on the joke when dd12 started to sweat. :tongue_smilie: I was amazed my kids didn't get me this morning. I am so gullible, and dd12 even borrowed a book of pranks from the library the other day.
Aubrey
(whispering) My kids have never heard of April Fool's Day. Shhhhhhh.
Angel
God is merciful. Dh isn't in town today:D One of the worst was the time he rubber-banded the sprayer for the sink. I turned it on and water was all over me, the kitchen, etc., etc. Ugh!:glare: I made sure NOT to mention it to my dd's. ;)
TeaTotaler
That is too funny! Imagine growing up with your birthday on April Fools Day. I had to carry out pranks conjured up by my classmates because they knew the teachers wouldn't be too mad at me. Ds tried to get me this morning by telling me that dh (who baked my birthday cake last night) had used red icing to spell out my name on the cake. I know dh would never do that so I didn't fall for it. When ds was younger he would try all sorts of ways to get me. Thankfully that has ceased as he's grown older. Hope the rest of your day is fun. kat19
No pranks here. Usually the kids play stupid little pranks on each other all day, not this year:001_smile:
mellifera
I asked the kids when they got up today, "Today is April Fool's Day. Are you wearing green?" It did make dd#1 check.:001_smile:
Harriet Vane
My kids laid a trail of signs with arrows for me to follow. I followed it around the house and found ALL my underwear (of all different shapes, colors, and varieties!!!) draped elegantly all over. They thought it was hilarious that my underwear was SHOWING! Then ds laid the signs around again, and I followed them around again until they ended in the kitchen. I stared and stared but couldn't figure out the joke. Ds was laughing like a hyena. Finally he told me it was a dead end--it was a prank because there was NO PRANK!!! He thought he was pretty clever.
Catwoman
My ds9 calmly walked into dh's office this morning and started up a little conversation. Then, he casually looked down and said, "I think there's one of those cave crickets under your desk, Dad." Dh practically leapt to the floor to see it, because he'd had a problem with cave crickets in the office a few years ago, and it was a real nuisance to get rid of them. Ds never even cracked a smile until his dad finished crawling on the floor under the desk, and then he just gave him a little smile and said, "April Fool's," and walked away. The kid is going to be dangerous when he gets older. Cat

Bula Mama
I'm in New Zealand and it IS well and truly over here! And somehow my kids didn't notice yesterday and I haven't reminded them. One dd in particular will be very sad when she realizes it!
Susan in TN
My oldest has been "planting" marbles everywhere, so I cringe whenever I have to open the fridge or pantry or cabinet...and wait for the shower of marbles to hit me. :sneaky2:
